The number and frequency of attacks against Jewish communities is increasing; in 2019, we saw over 1,500 recorded incidents. The rise in Antisemitism is unacceptable and requires stronger leadership in Congress and in the President’s office to combat.
Guido is inspired to action from his family’s history with Antisemitism. He deeply understands the threat of rising Antisemitism for all religions' religious freedom; he comes from a Jewish family that fled to the United States from the Nazis during the Holocaust. In addition, his maternal grandmother faced malnutrition and had to Italianize her last name because Jews couldn’t get work in Fascist Italy. He will take on this threat with everything in his power as your representative.
As Rabbi Hillel said: “But if I am only for myself, who am I? If not now, when?”
As your Representative, Guido will work to:
Push for an increase in federal resources to protect Synagogues and other religious institutions across the country. Until Jewish communities are not under threat - they must be protected.
Push for decreased polarization, because fringe political organizations have been involved in anti-Semitic and discriminatory attacks in recent years.
Tackle gun control - requiring stronger background checks so those with ill intentions cannot get their hands on the weapons used to commit attacks on religious institutions.
Guido will fight for additional US government assistance to countries combating Antisemitism worldwide.
