Wellington, FL - Today, Guido Weiss (FL-21) released the following statement after joining dozens of bipartisan Florida candidates in writing to Governor DeSantis on the ballot requirements and timeline during the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis.
"Federal, state, and local governments have realized how large of an impact COVID-19 has had on our entire society. The tax deadline has been moved back, student loan payments have been postponed, school has been suspended for many, and most businesses are not open. There must be no exemption for our democratic process. It is unacceptable that we have not had any relief," said Guido. "This is the third time we have asked Gov. DeSantis for an extended deadline, reductions in petition number requirements, and decreased qualification fees to ensure that this year's election will remain fair and democratic."
